You are now eligible to apply for the £250 Community Match Fund Grant, if your unit is in need of support to stay open, this is the final round o. This is because not all units targeted or nominated for England-only grants have applied for them and there are approximately 400 grants remaining. This round will be competitive, and the application will only stay open until we have awarded all the grants. We will pay all grants in time for units to be able to use them to pay subscriptions by the end of March. As these grants are funded by DCMS they must be spent by the units before the end of March.
A unit can apply for the grant to enable it to stay open, if it has been disproportionately affected by the pandemic, for example:
Units with members who live in areas of high deprivation
Units with girls whose families are experiencing considerable financial hardship that has meant they could not pay subscriptions this year
Units in areas disproportionately financially impacted by the pandemic
Units where leaders or volunteers have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic
Specialist units working with vulnerable children and young people, e.g., young carers, hospitals
