A Celebration of Cheshire Border Guiding Adventures 2019
Thank you to everyone that attended this super event that showcased the numerous opportunities there are in our county for Having an Adventure, locally and internationally. Planning for our next event, 12 Sept 2020, is understandably on hold at present.
Where possible, please ensure Level 1 and 2 are completed. It’s just a few short videos and a quick quiz or 2!
There are also the Programme webinars that tick off the programme training element of the Leadership Qualification. Sessions are run throughout the month by Girlguiding Qualified trainers. Sign up on the ‘learning opportunities’ page on GO.
You do not now need to repeat Module 1 when moving section. There is a checklist to complete with your mentor/commissioner.
Mentors/commissioners – please let the LQ coordinator know that this has been completed so it can be recorded on GO and the leader can still receive a certificate.
All training on hold. You do already have six months after your qualification expires to complete the 1st Response Refresher. If you don’t complete your 1st Response Refresher in this time, your qualification will no longer be valid.
Our county was paid in full by deadline!! Well done everyone!
Verified accounts are now due
All accounts must be independently reviewed annually and a verified, signed copy passed onto the relevant commissioner/treasurer (i.e District for unit accounts, Division for District accounts). If you need any help with this please contact your commissioner. More information can be found here.
County and Region IntOps Selection weekends – Postponed until 2021
European Jamboree 2020 – Postponed until Summer 2021
ICE Malta – planning continues. Awaiting guidance from FCO and Girlguiding.
All planning for region international experiences for 2021 on hold.
Fundraising Please be aware that if trips/events are cancelled, you may have to return donations – For example:
If you have been sponsored to do something to raise money for your trip and your trip is now cancelled, you need to contact each of your sponsors and let them know about the cancellation. You must ask them if they are happy for funds to still go towards the Girlguiding group who were going on the trip you were fundraising for, or if they want a refund.
If you held a bake sale/raffle/quiz night to raise money for your trip and your trip is now cancelled, refunds will not need to be made even though the trip is cancelled. The money must still be given to the charity you were raising money for, e.g your unit.
30 Comfort Bags have been delivered to Macclesfield Hospital along with a box of single use toothbrush/toothpaste packs & a box of mini soaps. We are trying to get enough stock together to get another delivery to Leighton hospital next week. We are short of deodorants and the bags themselves. However some Leaders and girls are sewing them for us whilst at home for which we are extremely grateful.
