Unfortunately Ann Addlington’s efforts to re-home the bench from Egerton Hall overlooking the railway line near Hough have stalled .The bench was resited and briefly appreciated by the train spotters before age took its toll .The council have removed it but we hope they will replace it shortly.
The strollers have enjoyed autumn walks in Wybunbury ,Congleton and Siddington followed by a good lunch . Border crafters have concentrated on Christmas themed activities and the country dancing provides a fitness workout once a month.
As usual our guilds have continued to fundraise for charities within their own meetings and our raffle at the County Meal raised a lot of money for “Team Robster”, a charity very pertinent to the Holmes Chapel guiders at present, supporting the Brain Tumour Charity.
Following on from our County Christmas meal which was attended by 57 members , most Guilds are gathering for a celebration before or after Christmas and plans are coming together for a County Weekend at Broneirion in May.
